In his view faith is not knowledge of reality nor belief in a proposition, nor a doctrinal choice nor an especial personal feeling towards a person or thing. All of these however play a role in faith. According to Tillich faith is the state of ultimate concern an act of the whole personality occurring at the center of personal life and engaging the whole personality. Tillich has divided reason into instrumental and ontological ones. He holds that instrumental reason in the sense of scientific method, logical precision and technological calculation as degenerated form of ontological reason which is the principle of meaning and structure and a n origin of criteria and principles. He maintains that reason and other cognitive properties such as science are not in a position to judge on faith. The reality of faith is totally apart from reality of reason. Tillich’s account of faith and reason has been the object of criticism by Christian critics. This article is an attempt to have a critical analysis of Tillich's view on faith and reason on the basis of the principles of Islam}, keywords = {Reason,Fideism,faith,ultimate concern,existentialism}, title_fa = {بررسی رابطه عقل و ایمان از دیدگاه پل تیلیش}, abstract_fa = {پُل تیلیش، الهی‌دان بزرگ معاصر، در باب چیستی ایمان و چگونگی رابطة آن با عقل نظریّه‌ای خاص ارائه داده است. به نظر او، ایمان نه علم به حقیقتی است، نه اعتقاد به گزاره‌ای، نه اختیار عقیده‌ای، و نه احساس شخصی خاصی نسبت به کسی یا چیزی؛ هر چند همة اینها در ایمان نقش دارند. ایمان در نگاه تیلیش، به عنوان حالت دلبستگی واپسین، عمل کل شخصیت است که در محور حیات شخصی روی می‌دهد و کل شخصیت را در بر می‌گیرد. او عقل را به ابزاری و هستی‌شناختی تقسیم کرده، بر این باور است که عقل ابزاری، به معنای روش علمی، دقت منطقی و محاسبه‌گری فنی، صورت انحطاط یافتة عقل هستی‌شناختی است که به معنای مبدأ معنا و ساختار، و مبدأ معیارها و اصول است. تیلیش معتقد است که عقل و سایر حیثیت‌های شناختی، چون علم، قدرت قضاوت درباره ایمان را ندارند. حقیقت ایمان کاملاً برکنار از حقیقت عقل است. این تلقی او از ایمان و عقل، و نیز دیدگاه غیر شناختاری وی دربارة ایمان از سوی منتقدان مسیحی مورد نقد واقع شده است. این نوشته در نظر دارد دیدگاه تیلیش در مورد رابطه ایمان و عقل را با توجه به مبانی اسلام نیز مورد نقد و بررسی قرار دهد.}, keywords_fa = {عقل,ایمان,ایمان‌گرایی,وابستگی نهایی,اگزیستانسیالیسم}, url = {https://pwq.bou.ac.ir/article_10332.html}, eprint = {https://pwq.bou.ac.ir/article_10332_c1c8c852a0d34bc7f7f3b28b30276168.pdf} }
