Abstract

Debate on the motion of soul is a problem raised as result of reflection on views of previous philosophers. Although such philosophers as Avicenna and Mulla Sadra have not dedicated a separate argument to this problem, one can obtain their views by examining the implications of their philosophical principles. To Ibn Sina substantial motion as well as change in in incorporeal being is impossible, thus soul can be in change only in her accidents and material life though he did not reject purgatory perfection. Mulla Sadra by contrast maintain the theory of substantial motion nevertheless he is committed to the condition of materiality for possibility of any movement. In the first step the present article is an attempt to review on viewpoints of afore-mentioned philosophers and examine in the second step the exact point of controversy holding the substance of soul in motion and finally offer six possible ways based on capacities of transcendent theosophy in proof of soul movement after its separation from body
