Abstract
How immaterial mind is related to corporeal body and whether they both constitute one single or dual reality is the most pivotal question under discussion in dealing with the problem of mind and body. Any explanation a philosopher gives to these two questions is based on the principles he adopted in his own philosophical system.
The present article examines some of the most important principles of transcendent theosophy that play a crucial part in shaping the theory of Mulla Sadra on the relation of soul and body; such themes as unification combination of soul and body, substantial motion, hierarchical nature of human existence, imaginal immateriality of soul, multidimensionality of soul are among the influential foundations that are to be taken as background of the view Mulla Sadra has expressed on the problem in question.
