Abstract

The word "right" as one of the main keywords in human lexicon has always been of interest and many different topics are discussed about it. One of the important topics in the issue of right is its division into natural and conventional. Many thinkers have addressed this division and narrated their own views about it. In the meantime, Shahid Motahari, as one of the prominent contemporary thinkers, has dealt with this issue in detail and with great care. Believing in natural and conventional rights, he provides a special definition of natural and conventional right that is worthy of reflection. After explaining Shahid Motahari's point of view about natural and conventional rights, this research criticizes it with descriptive and analytical methods, and at the end it comes to the conclusion that even though Shahid Motahari's explanation is a new explanation, it is not complete and needs to be corrected and completed. has
