Abstract
One of the problems facing religious and mystical experiences is their realism. This issue has been discussed from various perspectives, and with the emergence of new theories in neurotheology, a new chapter is opened in this regard. Among the viewpoints presented in this field is Michael Persinger's position on the cerebral origin of religious experiences and the possibility of controlling and replicating them through advanced technologies such as the Koren Helmet (God's Helmet). This speculation is a basis for the atheistic and skeptical movement in confronting the religious experience realism. Now, considering the importance of rational and logical defense of religious experiences and beliefs against emerging challenges, the present article aims to discuss the level of scientific validity and the relationship of the aforementioned viewpoint with the religious experience realism. The research method will be in terms of library collection and as a rational-analytical judgment. The result of the research is that Persinger's view and his experiments face scientific challenges and theologically cannot provide the slightest support for the atheistic and skeptical antirealism.
